Colorful Paperstars 2 by MyntKat Colorful Paperstars 2 by MyntKat
One of the two necklaces I made for :icon-kitsune-: to choose from. :D For our trade, she asked for a colorful paperstar jewelry set, so I made one in fiery colors and one in cooler colors.
I hope she likes at least one of them :)
The stars are made of varnished origami stars.

Materials used:
scrapbooking paper, high gloss varnish, tigertail wire, crimp beads, glass beads, seed beads, jewelry findings

Oh god, I think this one is my favorite :'3

The colors are so bright! And the papers are amazing, did they come with that sort of tye-dyed look?

They didn't, actually. It happened when I varnished them. Never happened before and at first I thought they weren't quite dry yet. But it turns out that some parts turned slightly translucent :o I have no idea why or how it happened, but I do like the look of it :D

I LOVE this color scheme! This is one of my favorites! The colored wire really makes it pop. :D

The wire is actually just silver, no idea why it turned out so dark in the photos :o I might have to edit that, now that you mention it...

It looks blue to me. Hmm...don't trust my eyes though, I've been having some astigmatism/distance problems. XD

I tried to edit it so it's a bit lighter, doesn't look blue to me, but it might be the different monitors too :D

Thanks :)
It takes some practice. Look around in Chinese or Japanese stores, they sometimes have pre-cut paper star strips, those are good for practice as they are the right length and width to get a good star :)
